Short CV and Research Interests

Vlachomitrou Maria holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics. She is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Fluid Mechanics & Turbomachinery at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in University of Thessaly under the supervision of Prof. N. Pelekasis.

Her research interests are mainly focused on boundary layer stability and two-phase flows, the dynamic behavior of encapsulated micro-bubbles (contrast agents) during their interaction with solid or elastic surfaces, the study of dynamic flows in the field of magnetohydrodynamics and the development and optimization of numerical methodologies and grid construction methods for moving surface flows.
